For the past two years Victoria National has been able to provide tournament volunteers with an educational seminar each day. Today was our first seminar and we were fortunate to have Jerry Husemann from BASF come in and speak on Naturalized Areas and Secondary Rough. Jerry described these areas as low maintenance (not zero maintenance). Having secondary rough on your course will reduced fuel costs, labor, water usages, and fertilizer. A mixture of spring and fall pre emergence with a mixture of post emergence is the key to success. Lastly, Mr. Husemann spoke on weed species and herbicides to suppress them. BASF: "We don't make the turf, we make it better" Thanks again to Jerry and BASF for the support.
